Good morning collectivists everywhere and welcome to another bright, revolutionary day. Remember, things are always better where it’s Red.
After the news of the disastrous engagement with the Cogs on Maranos, sector D, broke a bitter argument has broken out within the heart of the Red Blok.
You may remember that we reported the loss of men and machines with no apparent gains for our cause. An APC carrying a unit of RPG Soldaty was shot down early in the battle achieving nothing. There were no survivors. A strider was lost later, again needlessly as well as three more infantry units. It is one of the worst defeats our forces have suffered on Maranos.
The defeat comes after a withdrawal from the Spaceport and the leadership on Maranos has been put under scrutiny. Chief commissar Ivan Ionu of RedInt has claimed that counter revolutionary agents have infiltrated Red Blok headquarters on Maranos and are sabotaging the campaign. "It is the same organisation that interfered on Elysee during the Frostbite Campaign. Clearly our investigations and arrests did not go far enough. Action will be taken to root out those responsible.”
General Tukachevski, commander on Maranos, denied these allegations. "The leadership is not at fault. I will personally vouch for all my officers whatever their rank. It is significant that the two companies involved are both Gencol. Obviously we are being given substandard troops.”
In response Gencol issued this statement;
"The troops we produce are highly trained and of the best quality. The same company which suffered defeat at the hands of the Cogs had won a victory only the previous week. It is not the troops to blame, it is incompetent leadership."
ARC and Frontline remain silent on this subject.
Now other news:-
We are receiving reports of a meeting with Cog forces on the desert planet of Hydera. Our troops were carrying out a peaceful survey mission when they were the victims of an unprovoked attack by the Cogs. An inconclusive fire fight ensued with both sides eventually withdrawing.
Red Blok engineers are reportedly preparing defences around installations on Archeron in anticipation of a Therian attack. We will bring you an update on that as we get more information. It is certainly true that no one escapes war in this man’s universe.
