I've created this thread to have JP discuss Gamma World, and anything else about it to get some players on board for his upcoming scenario ...

New Sci-Fi RPG with James Pittaro based on Gamma World (old school!) rules and his books:
... Looking for 4 - 6 players to play for 5 weeks starting around 26th September;
... Looking to come in week before to set up characters - expected to be quick and simple to do.

James can be contacted through the website user name Arkaros43, or emailed directly at arkaros42@yahoo.co.uk. So ask any questions you might have and see what comes back at yeh! Balrog.

(Game One GM Summary)
Mark life leeches the Boss down to one HP. (Along with everybody else.) The Boss is not pleased, general mayhem ensues. When the Boss gets back from the infirmary the rotten slug realizes that these are the kind of dangerous dudes he's been looking for. Four mad mutants accept the mission to investigate the radioactive ruins of north sector. Various encounters result in the furious use of laser weapons and mutant abilities. But are they using their brains properly as well? No doubt they have a good tactical perspective as a group, and it has seen them through the dangers of Gamma World so far. But they are wandering into a very dangerous area, shimmying over the duralloy security wall like a bunch of mutant kids looking for technological apples. in the automated orchards of the ancients. A giant terror hangs like a black cloud in the twisted skies, some kind of flying death machine which could arrive at any moment and destroy them all. They have already seen the unstoppable firepower it possesses. Maybe the adventures should all just go home, and tell the Boss it was too dangerous to venture on. But I'm sure that's not the kind of mutated DNA that these four heroes are made of.
(To be continued...)

The Boss is sending reinforcements. Nobody has ever just tried to leap over the outer security wall. It's either pure genius, or pure madness; or a tinge of madness with a streak of genius. Whatever the hell it is the Boss is asking just what you are hoping to achieve in this current situation? Just hold your current position and wait for help to arrive, in the form of some gun toting brothers with some serious attitude.

That's not a bad idea, but intelligence about what is about here is valuable to the Boss too. I'm sure he'd; ahem the brotherhood would like to get their hands on that suit of powered assault armour. It would also be possible to do a lot of things with that battle suit. Maybe even fight against the death machine for a few rounds cool

Wait a minute! How does the Boss know what the party is doing? Nobody sent a status report back, did they? Maybe the Boss has a method of spying on the party, unless someone has been secretly feeding him information; maybe one of the NPC's wait a minute aren't they all dead? Better do a quick check to see whose still alive! The reinforcements will arrive shortly and they are going to be 'packing' something unexpected. The Boss wants a into that ancient complex and you've had some good luck so far; the death machine seems to be busy, but there's no telling how low that will last. Think of the brotherhood and think of a profit; but don't forget to think about how you are going to survive this place for much longer. You haven't seen anything yet....

The party have infiltrated some part of an ancient military base. They have had considerable success and have stolen an armored air vehicle. But just where do they intend to fly too? This remains to be seen, but one things for sure only a small fraction of the place has been explored, and big trouble is bound to arrive soon. But maybe just maybe they are the big trouble and have already arrived; either that or a bunch of mutant lightweights about to find out about the tough edge of messing about with things they don't know about in north sector. Here don't look at me like that I'm just paraphrasing the Boss. What else did he say? Oh yeah! don''t anyone one of you be getting ideas about total ownership of anything you happen to find. The rate is still 9.97% divided my the number of mutant brothers who survive the mission. I need to get back, see you at the next debriefing...over and out...

No worries game on. I get a bit frustrated when I can't play the games as often as I'd like too. But its cool, I intend to keep going with this on the basis we have started. As you said shug, its just picking up now into something interesting so lets get on with it. The Book 'Scavenger Brotherhood of the Slug' is way ahead of the game now and is sitting at 59800 words, so its my biggest single book so far and I'd imagine will be around the 100 000 word mark by the time I'm finished; which I hope to be by the end of January to meet the February publication deadline. So lots of base material to work with in the game, and plenty of time between missions to think up and plan new things...

I presume that when we return that all the players so far will be involved; Shug, Paul, Mark, Walter, Graham and Laura. with any guest players that want to drop in (two more maximum to keep the game speed up) I've been gluing up models form warhammer parts to make some interesting things, so I anticipate the next adventure should be quite exciting and tough!

yes all systems go. I'm looking forward to this one. I've been in the world of gamma world writing brotherhood of the slug for so long now, it feels so vivid. I want to bring that world and its reality into the game in certain ways. I'm also thinking of running a second level to the game every two weeks at the club for any drop in players. if no players want to play that I will set up a table and use it as Gamma world design time. That way I get a chance to GM a more consistent world every two weeks and can visit the club and bring players to the club more often. A lot of people are lining up to play this game guys. A new generation of players (graham and Lauras numerous friends.) then I can also experiment with two simultaneous plot lines in game terms so its more like the books. Cheers smile

Gamma World GM summary: The brothers struggle on, good tactical work and some excellent team work was really getting results, but the humanists played their hand, and sabotaged everything. Scratch one death machine and at the hands of a new unknown force; could these be the ancients returned to claim their world? It seems everybody wants a chunk of Gamma World. Laura was clearly nervous as she made the decision to follow her humanist masters orders; after all she was an assassin and her choice was clear. Either follow the orders or rebel. Hugh was blasted as he ran for cover. Mark was very quick and shot the deaths machines controller out of her hands; destroying it with a very luck shot. The three way conflict which followed was worthy of any scene in a book. That was awesome in fact. Paul played with a steady consistency, alternating between figuring out things, combat and operation of flying equipment to great effect. Hugh as always the rpg professional lol. It was all going so well until the death machine exploded n a massive fiery blast; knocking the flying apc out of the air and causing it to crash Lauras character 'Krellen' was killed as the building was also caught in the blast. I was satisfied that everyone wanted back in and were interested enough to roll new characters; well done that's enthusiasm. Welcome to Kieran as a new member of the brotherhood of the slug; as a new bunch of hopeful initiates make their way into the neutron blasted remains of New Washington; following the orders of an irate mutant slug known only as the Boss. The adventure continues...

Well the brakes have been on Gamma World while I continue the epic struggle with my car! But as soon as I get reliable wheels back then I'm going to restart my plans for any interested players... smile

I would like to apologise in advance.

I am going to nick one of your ideas and graft it onto my Drow campaign. ninja

The "Brotherhood of the Slug" is a great name.

The Drow organization will be called the "Brotherhood of the Mask" .

(As they are followers of Vhaeraun , whose symbol is a half mask.)

i thought i would come clean and take the flak now before you set any lawyers on me. LOL. rtfm
