The Hammer of the Great Chariot Maker
Part 2: Beyond The Standing Stones
The crew headed back to the ship. Berun was still insisting on appropriating the fireball spell but the rest still ignored his advice. First they flew to collect the treasure they had buried in the north and then they headed out to where Gul’s vision was leading them. Eventually, after flying over a green carpet of jungle for many hours, they came upon more hilly terrain. In the distance two columns of smoke rose, just as the dream had shown.
"Make for the northerly one and land some distance away so we can approach on foot” ordered Gul.

The Hammer of the Great Chariot Maker
Part 1: Zeph meets his doom
The party surveyed the treasure they had liberated from the Green Dragon.
|
The crew found the captain's belongings in a neat pile on the deck of The Despair. On top was a hand written note which said simply:
"I can't take it any more. I'm off!"
And that was the last they heard of him.......

LATER THAT SAME DAY:
Gul stared into the dying embers of the camp fire. His companions seemed to be enjoying their rest but he was wakeful. Sleep eluded him no matter how hard he tried to relax. The fight with the green dragon, the lung full of poison gas he had breathed in and the exhilaration and relief of finding the lost crown had left his brain racing. The plans he and his crew had been patiently laying could now be set in motion. The path to the final goal was before them. He could see the hated matriarchy crumbling before them. All that, however, lay in the future. More pressing matters had to be addressed. They must get back to the ship and then they could exact their revenge on Zeph the accursed drider.
"I must get some rest” he thought to himself.
His mind would not stop. Frustrated, he rose

The Tomb of Kama
Another fine winter day on top of House Kobra. The crew were sparring under the watchful eye of Captain Vixia and her temporary first mate Gul. (Birz was off on family business). When another three Drow approached, two were females Arla and Faylin, the third a mere male ,Berun ( a young blade from the Ghetto). Arla has links to a top underworld boss, she is half Drow ,sired by an elf slave. So is of low birth , however this is of little consequence to those who live in the gutter. She has been trained in the Thieves Guild, and is looking to learn dungeoneering from her friend Kalan. Faylin does not say much about herself...she watches and listens. She does tend to get bored easily on long voyages, but usually finds something pleasant to do below decks with the more charismatic males. Berun challenged Nsaar to a pistol duel for the rihgt to be gunner. Unluckily Nsaar's pistol jammed and Berun became the new Gunner. Captain Vixia summoned the crew around her and told them of a map professor Cronk had found in an old book. The map showed the location of a Tomb in a hidden valley in Minotaurus. A cat people village was nearby. So the crew readied themselves and boarded the "Despair". While flying across the Sorcerak jungle , a giant wasp was spotted off starboard, the ship wheeled to bring the ballista to bear and Berun shot down the Insect with two fine strikes. When crossing Zirkast ho

With a lurch , the cloud castle started once again to skim across the sky. A roar of rage echoed down the hall as the Giant came across the bodies of his slaughtered hounds. The intuders could see his pain and anguish as he filled the doorway, there was no escape.
"Two ranks , Vipers ready " screamed Gul, the Drow fell into place and trained their pistols.
The Giant came on through the volley of darts and clashed into their ranks scattering the Drow, as some drew swords and others continued to fire pistols at point blank. One Drow , a recruit, drew forth his battleaxe to face the fury of the berserk defender but lasted only a heartbeat as he was crushed against the wall by a mighty blow from the Giants club.
Kalan then drew Giant-Killer his two handed magic sword and smote the Giant a biting blow. The giant screamed with shock and pain turning on him in single minded fury. Kalan was struck with some force but skillfully rolled with the power of the blow. Returning another upper cut as he emerged from the roll, and felled the Giant.
The looters then ransacked the castle and taking the slaves ,their fallen shipmate,a small library, and great deal of Silver they returned to the waiting Airship. After a short debate between Captain Vixia and the Professor, she returned with him and the slaves to the castle and emerged later with two large chests. Which she declared was the Captains Share.
The crew returned to Shanizar to cremate the crewmate who fell against t

Introduction
The Valley of the Great Sword is populated by many creatures, it is one of the few enclaves not overrun by mankind. It is the homeland of Elves, Dwarrows, Orcs, Spider Folk, Dragons, Cat People and Swamp Creatures to name a few.
But there is little known of the Dark Elves who live in a city perched precariously on the side of a mountain half a days flight, as the crow flies, over Sorcerak. That den of evil, lair of spider worshippers, stronghold of the Airship pirates called Rievers, goes by the name Shanizar the Wicked.
Our "Heroes" the crew of the good ship Despair is second ship of the line. She raids the surrounding lands bringing back booty to House Kobra (though a good deal of this always seem to end up in lockers under the beds of some enterprising Rievers).
Ship, Crew & Mission History
The Despair is commanded by Captain Vixia, she rules with a rod of iron, is always ready to flog any crewman for the slightest error, as is the way of all Drow. For what is the point in having power if you cannot use it to bring misery on others. She is a devout follower of Lolth the Spider Goddess. Her henchmen include the Pilot ( a Drow Nobleman who lives to f
