To Warlord (Joruus);

we must have a crossed wire somewhere....bankers charge you money to protect your cash in Shanizar the wicked. The merchant you are dealing with charges you nothing , but he uses your cash to finance business ventures...and if you donate a LOT...he may cut you in on the deal...but not the small amount you have invested...if invested is the right word.................probabaly not.

Professor Cronk has been showing off one of his rare books from his collection.

Its called "Book of the Illithid Vol 2".

It seems also, as mentioned by Tsab (Gul's Henchman). That Birz owns "Book of the Illithid Vol 1".
Though he has never read it.

That book is well hidden and incapable of theft!!! I may peruse the text in a secret corner somewhere - I get Defect to guard the door on the pretext that I am going to read him a story.

Incapable of theft ? ...not very likely in a dormitory, where your belongings are kept in a chest under the bed.

Reading a book would be a "between adventures action". One allowed per PC.

Normally , each character can do some training at one of the Guilds/ find a henchman (level 3)/ make a magic potion (Sorcery skill)/ learn a new spell/ something else ???
