Can the club afford to buy one of these bunkers for AT-43 / WH40K

http://www.firedragongames.co.uk/scenery.html

They are available for pre-order soon. (9th to 16th April)

We can afford to buy one.

At £23.50 looks okay, but will need painted.

Is this in addition to the ones Mark plans to make up based on AT43?

If this is the style of bunker you want the basic idea could be made from scratch, for much less than £23.50.

We have a week to decide - lets see what others think.

With the rest of the at-43 stuff per made and prepainted, wouldn't a cast bunker fit in better.

I'd rather wait for another AT-43 Bunker to crop up and buy that.

In the meantime, print off a couple of the bunkers on hardcard and use them as flat templates until we get some originals, that way we're getting the right style/dimensions for the Frostbite campaign ... Walts

Have looked at dimensions of this bunker and an At43 bunker:
1) AT43 bunker measures approximately 160mm by 135mm
2) this one is 170mm by 145mm

I know that this doesn't look like much but :
1) do we want to cause any arguments like "It's 10mm bigger than a standard bunker"
2) do we agree from the go ahead that as long as the "majority" agree the bunker can be used as standard
3) there won't be any arguments over "line of sight" issues due to the extra area and
4) it's not the correct shape

I would like to see a simple vote for or against usage of this item --- before we run off and purchase one --- using the arguments above. Any other argument after this vote to be ignored --- IF IT PASSES AND YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY THE VOTE WENT -- DON'T BUY BUNKERS DURING THE CAMPAIGN!!

My vote would be YES, let's get one bought and use it in any AT43 game as a terrain piece even if we do get our hands on the genuine article in the future. Who knows when and if a bunker will turn up again.

FYI --- I have printed off and hard backed Three bunkers (2 have been left at club I believe).

Mark --- soon to be Known as "Alpha-Omega"

I take it from that you are not planning to build up a bunker yourself - Alpha Omega?

I thought the bunker zellak spotted looked very like the floor template of the bunker At43 has - just a little deeper.
The style is what you want.

I have been looking through the web for bunkers and this one is probably the best I have seen at a reasonable price - similar sized but more boxy WWII bunkers were $36.

Also had a look on ebay - several bunkers. A Wytchfire resin bunker for £9.99 + £2.29 P&P. But more like the one I made for the club (for free - just can't please some people wacko ) that wasn't what you wanted.

As to the "not being the correct size/shape" as wargammers we make do with what we have - this resin bunker would give you a superb feature you wanted and stop the line of sight issues.

So we have zellak Yeah!, Ross Yeah!, Mark Yeah!, Walter Nay!, Banksi Yeah (I think)

I will wait a few days for Gerry and or Ian W to respond.

Also Pavlov and Zealyot.

Which covers all the AT-43 players at the club.

Of course..............WH40K players input also welcome. happy

And can i say the bunker Ross made has served us well and can continue to do so alongside the new one (if we get it).

Good job Ross. biggrin

I'm all for it because not only is it not that far off in size from the actual AT-43 bunker but it looks like a really good piece of terrain for and Sci-Fi game happy

Yes, the bunker is slightly different --- hence the arguments I listed. If nearly everyone is in agreement on this forum then I don't see any problem with getting one of the models.

To Ross -- I may still try to assemble a bunker to see how difficult it will be due to some funny angles on the template -- plan on building in next couple of weeks.

The Bunker has just arrived and looks fantastic - well made resin. Firedragon should give GW ideas on how to do their fine casts properly. There are a couple of extra walls with it, and it has super strong magnets that keep the roof on but allow you to take off to get figures in the building - very clever!! cool

Look forward to painting it up and getting it assembled - sandbags to add. biggrin
