Had another two games today , Che's gang and mine combining to take down Richmond and the Projects.

Another enjoyable piece of street mayhem in Gibsonville. Let's think of names for our gangs and then we can start a storyline for a blog. My gang is now 'The Thunderbirds'!

The "Driver" skill is not working out to well.

Any ideas about what we could replace it with.....i think maybe another negative trait like these : traitor/no-show/addict/burn-out . devil

Dont suggest any more combat abilities, there are enough already !!!

What about 'No balls'? Roll aginst cool if within 9" of an opponent. If it's a fail then run straight back for 2 actions. I'm prepared to be shot down in flames on this one. wink

What did a "Driver" do?

Could he hot-wire a car, truck, motorbike .... or even a tank!? Then drive it about ... cooooolll?

That sounds like fun, squashing all the bugs! happy ... biggrin he would get to run people down! biggrin ... Walts

Wow ... Che's on a roll!

Getting "Stage Fright" at a time when u need ur trooper the most is a good idea! Although, I would have them roll each round to see if they dare do anything, because they've got shok "No balls!" shok ... Walts

He could drive a vehicle once the keys were found (using the alien artifact counters)

Maybe he could just hotwire any vehicle as you suggest ?

Could be its been to hard to get hold of vehicles so far ?

No one will get shot down for throwing around a few ideas ! Not by me anyway. smile

I agree. Maybe the gang should get to keep a vehicle if they are lucky enough to find the keys or hot wire it. Hot wire means roll to start the vehicle, keys mean it starts automatically? I'm loving this thread. biggrin

Will need to scour evil-bay for toy cars....1/50th scale for 28mm , right ?

Got a bike out the bitz box on Sunday, so it will be ready by the next game. (he says , painting himself into a corner. biggrin )

Here's an idea. I thought of this 'cos the upcoming modern magic campaign is set in the same place. How about a combat mage? He could be like any 'special weapon' and do the rounds of the gangs after being lost. I thought he could be a 'buddy' for ganger and give him some abilities. Any ideas/objections?

That would certainly spice things up a bit!

Give each gang the option of having a "Master of the Black Arts" who can control the elements ... air, fire, earth and water ... with spells to match! Or do u need to go that far? ... probably not, just a "special weapon/attack" would do.

I'm currently playing Warhammer Fantasy a lot and have always liked the idea that magic can "back-fire" on the mage, so roll an number to cast the spell, roll a 1 or old snake-eyes and have it explode on ur mage! Maybe something to consider?

Sounds interesting, reminds me of a old play by mail game I did. what are the rules? what mini's are you using if you are using them?

We use a mixture of models from different companies.

The rules are designed so you can use any model, as long as it is ID correctly. (with a number on the base)

The rules are much like Space Crusade, using SC dice.

cool

You roll a D20 for each character.....they activate from 20 down to 1.

When activating a character gets 2 actions , each action can be...move 6", overwatch, fire, aim, melee, climb, etc.

Shooting up to 8" (3 white dice) , up to 24" (2 white dice), over 24" (1 white dice).

Roll higher than targets armour to score wounds, cover = +1 armour, there are 5 types of characters each with different stats/wounds.

loony

The number of kills a character scores allows progression up the ranks.

The top rank is Gang Leader, when there are two leaders they fight to the death for control of the gang.

We are still to finalise the rules for vehicles.....we pretty much add stuff as we go along.....if its fun, its in. biggrin

A word now to all the players.

As all the turfs are now under control of the gangs, some rules will change in order to move the campaign along.

Dead gangers will no longer spawn back to their gang number....but to a turf.

The gang owning the turf will get the new punk. ("toughs" will henceforth be renamed "punks")

So be aware, it is now imperative for gangs without a Turf to get one, or die trying. cool

Some alliances may be in order. wink

Also

Combat Styles (Camper)

This style is clearly not working out, as they have a high survival rate and yet never leave the start zone.

Making the game too static. sad

They will all be converted to Tactical (combat style), which will mean they are free to make decions like "Leaders"

And the style known as Leader will gain a new ability....the Leader can take one of its gangs "hired guns" as a buddy.
