There's always room for a hero.

It works like this.

"Heroes are not counted towards the passenger capacity of a transport when they have joined a unit."

Example ; Saint Anuman is the commander of a unit of 4 Kaptors, all five can get into a Dirt Kongaroo as the hero does not count towards the transport capacity of 4.

DEMON : " When next we meet, i shall tear you limb from limb...there will be no escape. "

Hero: " You bring balloon animals and i'll hire a clown..... we can make it a regular party. "

Hi

I think all Karman infantry should act like cogs for morale. (as if they were type 3 infantry units; test when down to one model) Cogs already have this and Therians are immune to fear. Both have similar costs per model, protection values, and unit sizes.

and

Main rulebook, p. 51 under Damage. The following sentences should be added under Ordering the Activation Sequence, "If one or more players has less units than their opponent, they receive a number of blank cards equal to the difference between their number of units and that of the opponent with the highest number of units. When a blank card is revealed, the player activates no units and the turn passes to the next player. These cards may be used as many times in a row as the player wishes until they run out of blank cards. These are entirely separate from a Delayed Activation and may be combined with it." (Having less squads already limits elite armies in enough ways, this balanced things in C2/3 and would work here as well to at least balance the activation sequence.)

and

Guru Lucius. Replace the Standard Range weapons with DRUM GUN 4 4/0 - 8/1, DRUM GUN 4 4/0 - 8/1 (The hero is worse at using this gun than the grunts he leads?)

and

K-burners. Replace the Equipment description for K-armor with, "A fighter equipped with this armor gains the "Hoist" ability. At any point during his turn when he is in contact with a low wall, the low wall can be picked up and then redeployed anywhere in contact. This allows him to pick up a wall and carry it with him. Redeploying a wall will end your movement. A fighter may not perform a rush move when using the "Hoist" ability. This action replaces his melee attacks. (Hekats have this too)

and

K-burners. The following is added to the Equipment description section, "Curtain of Flames: At the end of the unit's movement, if it has not yet shot its flamers, the unit may use the "Curtain of Flames" ability. This unit cannot be seen, nor can any unit even partially hidden by the bases of the unit with respect to unit sizes. Units larger than the K-burners can see over the flames to targets beyond." (K-burners are useless as is)

and

Venerable Cornelius. The Protection characteristic is 8. (Up from 7. He has the biggest suit of armor of anyone in the entire game)

and

Wendigos. The following specialists should replace those found in the Unit Composition section: Combat Engineer, Medic

and

Yetis. The following specialists should replace those found in the Unit Composition section: Crystal Radio Operator, Medic.

and

Yetis. The following should be added to the Specialists section: Crystal Radio Operator- The Crystal radio operator has the "Countermeasure" ability. The enemy's "Disruption" and "Interference" abilities have no effect on the player's company."

and

King Mammoth. The Propulsion has 3 SP. (Less SP than the cogs who have less than the Karmans in all other vehicles except the type 3's?)

I'll nick some more later.

Alan

Do you have an opinion on the topic of this thread ?

Remembering of course that this house rule would effect all heroes in all armies (which have transports).

Go on....say it....."its not fair cos the cogs dont have transports"......LOL.

Sorry... This rule although quoted for a Karman upgrade is actually for the Therians, The need for the therians to take 9 in their transport (Wyvern)was tried before, because a transport that holds nine is the ultimate number for the therian units, they basically cant be wiped out in the first round against them!!!

So trying to sneak in an old and thrown out idea via a different approach wont work.

NO, NO and NO

Of course I know your name, it's your face I can't remember - Parahandy

i dont think you have thought this one through before posting.

Heroes are added to the numbers in a unit they dont replace the officer.

So Therians heroes cannot join type 1 infantry units, only type 2 , which max out at 9.

And start at 6 plus a hero .....no problem there.

So in effect this rule would only effect UNA / RB / Karman / Oni units.

And ONi can already field a minimum Type 1 squad (8) plus a hero quite easily as their transport carries 12.

So if neither of my armies will gain that much from this house rule.

If making sure that neither of my armies benefits from any new house rules is the only criteria that needs to be addressed.

Then you must be happy with this house rule ?

This rule will be an advantage for ;

All 4 Karman Heroes.

UNA Captain Newton.

RB Sarge Timofiyeva.

ONi Byron Samedi joining a unit of 12 zombies.

The last one would be an advantage to an army i own......

So in order to avoid the inevitable calls of foul play on my part.

The rule should now read.

"Heroes are not counted towards the passenger capacity of a transport when they have joined a unit.

This rule does not apply to ONi armies used by zellak, without opponents consent"

Example ; Saint Anuman is the commander of a unit of 4 Kaptors, all five can get into a Dirt Kongaroo as the hero does not count towards the transport capacity of 4.

Just noticed something after re-reading the core rulebook.

Heroes are never counted towards the number of figures in a unit,
( except when calculating numbers for control of an objective. )

Therefore this thread is void !!!

As a hero can travel in a transport and does not count towards the number of figures the transport can carry !

The only trouble here would be Cogs as they can have any number of Heroes in a unit....but they dont have transports. biggrin

So problem solved.
