Each kingdom starts with a king and queen, they have newly arrived and destroyed all the Goblin kingdoms in the process.

Tudor ; Henry (sickly/benevolent ) Elizabeth ( tyrant/trader ) 0 children

Hanover ; Friedrich (sickly/charismatic ) Helga (sickly/idiot) 2 children

Bourbon ; Louis ( charismatic /trader) Bernadette ( sickly/adventurer ) 0 children

Kastello ; Carlos (sickly/benevolent) Isabella (bigot;beastmen/benevolent ) 0 children

Borgia ; Guiseppe (charismatic/ambitious ) Lucretia ( bigot;dwarves/bigot;dwarves ) 3 children

Roll for children ; 1d6-3 every turn

Roll for death by aging 1d6

age 55 ....2+ to survive
age 60...3+
age 65...4+
age 70...5+
age 75 and onward....6 or die.
Sickly = up to age 25 survive on a 2+, age 30+ survive on a 4+////// Longevity= start rolling from age 80. then 4+ to survive.

Kingdom Value (start 2d6+6) / Every 5 year turn; roll 1d12 for each KV point ( gain another point on a roll of 12 ). Roll for starting magic item.
WAR ; roll 1d6 for each faction, if =or > 20 then Dragon-newts have a civil war/ Kyrie attack a random faction for slaves / Wolfen or beastmen attack each other.
Each KV represents 100 points of troops...Each army has 600 points 1 x General / 2 x shieldwall Rgts/ 1 x chariot Rgt/ 1 x archer Rgt/ 1 x cannon.

Played the first game of the campaign today ( solo )

The kyrie almost wiped out all the dragon-newts, captured their magic item and took 4000 prisoners as slaves (-4 KV )

The Wolfen failed to bring the Broo to battle.

Current strengths are now;

Tudor 10 (the fog )
Hanover 14 ( brew of keen eye )
Bourbon 16 WAR attack Kastello second (jar of the four winds )
Kastello 11 (amulet of thorns )
Borgia 16 WAR....attack Kastello first (wings of the honeymaze)

Wolfen 18................ WAR = Broo evade engagement (ensorcelled armour) EDIT Beastmen renamed Broo ( fielded as human berserkers )
Broo 11 ( brew of sharpness )
Dragon-newt 6
Kyrie 11 .............. (medallion of life / wine of elvenkind ) 4 KV dragon-newt slaves

No problem Walts.....no designated players for each of the factions.

Just going with the personalities of the Kings and Queens for evaluating conflicts/politics.

The next battle will be a siege...Borgia 1600 points of men against Kastello defending with 1100 points of men.

Wow what a game on Sunday 8000 pts Orcs and Forces of Nature V 8000 pts Humans & Dwarves!

Orcs victorious with over 5000 pts still standing - smashing up the Dwarves and most of the centre of the Human line.
The Human Knights put up a big fight on the other flank but took too long to remove the pesky an determioned to stay to the bitter end - Orc Skulks!
The Humans only had just over 3000 points left at the end.

Will add the pictures to the Kings of War picture Gallery later.

It was just a one off as far as I believe.

Hugh and I wanted to see a large KoW battle.

I still think the Orcs are too tough - all getting CS(1) and Defence 5 makes them very tough to beat.

There are no Orcs in Arkania so it wont be a big problem. wink ( for the campaign anyway ) tongue

Fight all battles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /
Amend KV totals ( -1 KV for each 200 army points destroyed. )

Roll for Increase of KVs / ( roll 1d12 for each KV) 12 = +1 (( if "Harsh Conditions" apply 1 = -1 KV ))

See for the FIGHT ALL BATTLES do remember the wealth of 15mm armies I now have at my disposal.

If you want I can bring in some - what types of armies are you looking at fighting with?
I have; Norman, Viking, Mongols, Assyrians, Greek, Orcs, Dark elves, Dwarves, various monsters / dragons etc (the fantasy ones could be used to represent a human group).
And there will be a Roman army for the club.
Alhough I must insit I get to fight with the Mongols first - as they have not been used yet!

It might be Borgia and Bourbon against Kastello ....3200 points of humans vs 1100 points of humans in a siege.

So 15mm might be okay. We don't have a 15mm castle though ?

Rules of Engagement

As the KV increases, each kingdom will roll to see if they are involved in conflict.
If the trigger point is reached then consult priorities of attack.

Non human priorities;

1) Any adjacent kingdom which also triggers conflict. Dice for timing if more than one.

2) Non human specific priority ( Wolfen vs Broo / Dragon-newt civil war / Kyrie random slave raid.

Human Priorities;

1) Any Non-human adjacent kingdom which triggers conflict.

2) Any non-human adjacent kingdom. (which has not been subdued )

3) Any adjacent Human kingdom which triggers conflict.

4) Smallest adjacent Human Kingdom.

Wolfen KV 18 vs Bourbon KV 16

Borgia KV 16 attacks Dragon-newts KV 6 .......This is not worth playing ...Auto win to the Borgias of Forvetti ... Dragon Newts conquered.

Dragon Newts will pay tribute (25% rounded up KV ) to the Borgias. ( 2 KV ) per turn.

Final battle of year 5 played today...

A draw between the Wolfen and the Franx. Wolfen -2 KV ....Franx -1 KV

Franx Charioteer regiment was the man of the match rolling up the Wolfen flank (with a bit of help from a Beast of War wink )

Wolfen man of the match.......nobody really.

This is dead.....the families system and book keeping are ridiculous .

Had a couple of days off. And worked out an easier system.

Where you just roll every turn to see if a Warlord gets replaced.

possible situations.... coup / personal challenge / heir / aging / assassination / illness (miss a turn ) .

Also reduced the Warlords to 8 types

King ; attacks to subjugate , gets paid tribute ( Kyrie : pride )

Xenophobe : attacks to kill populations of different races. ( Slann : wrath )

Merchant ; defends, gains extra resources. ( Southmen : avarice )

Despot : defends ; wasteful with resources. ( Goblins : gluttony )

Autocrat : defends, neutral. ( Forest Folk : sloth )

Slaver : attacks to gain slaves. ( Broo : lust )

Raider : defends ; but conducts abstract raids. ( Northmen : envy )

Populist : as his racial/national type.

The population of each nation starts at 8 .

Each point of Pop = 1 unit of around 100 army points

The population fluctuates ( made up a chart ) and maxes out about 12 .

Getting raided decreases Pop and slows growth.

Raiding increases growth rate of the raider.

I have played 5 turns so far....................

just shows what you can get done when the club shuts for a week. biggrin
