I agree that Oni forces should be usable by all involved in the campaign
I also believe that you should be allowed to use the type 3 AFV but we could maybe restrict it to one per faction
for example a if an Oni type 3 AFV is bought for a therian cypher company no other therian company can buy one C&C welcome smile

in blackest night,
no evil shall escape my sight,
let those who worship evil's might,
beware my power,
Green Lantern's light!"

Hi Kieran ... that's a pretty good idea, I like that concept! ... ONLY One TYPE I, II & III unit available to each army, that way there's no bulk buying specific ONi TYPE's in any army!

Keep those idea's coming! ... Walts

Hi

Quote

That still limits the use of Oni mercs and is pointless since the Oni troops will need transport which is type 2, if folk are worried about the type 3 then stop the type 3 for all bar the Oni army, mercs can be limited to type 1 and 2 when use in other armies.

Has anyone actually read what it says in the Oni book?

Special: Any company from any army can recruit ONI units
from the basic ONI platoon pattern by following these rules:

The odd units, beginning with the first, adhere to the platoon
pattern of the company and are recruited from the fighters
stemming from the original army (Red Blok, U.N.A., etc.).

The even units, beginning with the second, adhere to the
generic platoon pattern for ONI and must recruit only ONI
fighters.

Only even units can be picked from the Oni list and it must being with the 2nd unit,
so you must take Oni infantry first before taking any ONi vehicles

Hey Banksi ... Ur a bit late to the ONi "show" ... here's a post on the last page I made about the said ONi guidelines ...

Quote (Balrog)
I knowwwwww ... so to get the use of an ONi AFV, I would need to buy an ONi inf unit first before the AFV became available? We didn't do that in the last campaign? ONi AFV could be used on their own? ... Any thoughts? ... YEAH, get to bed, u've work in the morning!!! ... Walts

... so, I'm guessing plenty of us have read the rules, but Da' Umpire is suggesting we control anyone being crazy with buying in ONi AFV's in general? I still think the ONi "merc" rules are pretty clear and everyone has the choice to buy an ONi INF first then an ONi AFV second within their factions, so I'm a bit confused why it's came up in the first place? We did play the ONi as "merc's" differently in the last campaign, which was more for their transport, but there's nothing really wrong with the core rule, imho ... Walts

I think the problem is as you said, We didn't play the rule as it was written and jumped into using ONi afv's improperly.

So The core rules do seem to be suffice as they stand.

Hi

To be fair and honest Hugh supplied the oni transports for the game as some of the missions are nigh on impossible if you dont use transports so they were used as proxy's since there are no real transports for most of the factions in the game, in fact oni might be the only faction with the correct transports.

Sorry Umpire !......... for breaking the rules.

(This is my second post on this thread, and each player was only allowed one post each.)

Pavlov is correct, there was only ever one transport made.

Well not really ????, as to get one it is necessary to buy two ONi vehicles and exchange the turrets !

We might be better buying other sci-fi vehicles and making up our own stats.

Not for this campaign of course.

Hi

Or use other companies afv's and use the stat's in the books, would save a lot of hassle and forum pages. Gerry has thought about the evilempire "flying toaster" for the UNA I might use the dust chopper for the UNA or the modified shorts skyvan for.
