Aha !!! Thinking the same thing myself today ! ( great minds think alike. tongue )

What if......

The two opposing forces fight a 4' x 4' battle, and the winner gets to advance to the sector.

The loser retreats.

Of course if there is a weeks delay for replacements to arrive, this might mean attacking at a disadvantage surprised ....

We could say that if a Company encounters two enemy Companies in a meeting engagement then its an autowin for the bigger force.

The single Company falling back.

As you are writing in red...........i take it you are playing the Red Blok ? wink

Hi Guys

I won't be able to commit to a campaign as my workload has just doubled due to my manager taking ill, so my Sundays are stuffed!

Best of luck with the new campaign,

Walts

As a suggestion, why not play sequential movements? ... Players plan what moves they would like to do ... Pav rolls a d20 (d100?) for each moving company and those that move into an opponents sector cause them to stop their manoeuvres and be the defenders?

Will you be playing Defenders Vs Attackers .... Less Army Points Vs All Army Points?

Hey Morgoth you could always play as a 2IC for someone so that you could still play a game if you get the odd weekend off and you wont be commited to being there every wek a game is on

no evil shall escape my sight,
let those who worship evil's might,

I can't see how that would work if I'm not available? So, I'll give it a miss this time. If I get time off, I'll need to use it for the M&M RPG and model painting I want to get done.

From what I understand things, u don't need a 2ic? All the armies have been covered, so if new players join with a same army, they become 2ic? Armies can mix & match to suit any combination you want ... UNA & RB as allies, or not ... ONi & CoGs as allies, or not ... any combo!

If players want to match up, that's OK, but not a necessity to play a campaign ... so ur likely to end up with some players as commanders without a 2ic and some with a 2ic if they want to field the same armies OR dif armies on the same side ... does that make sense???

nope, none at all.

We have six players, one for each army.

But it will be useful to have other players who can step in and play games in order to keep the campaign moving.

I spoke to a number of people today who might be interested in joining in. happy

The easiest way for it to work is for one player to be designated Commander (this is already done) .

He would play two companies, the 2ic (second in command) would play the other two.

However !............. if a game is scheduled and one of the players cannot make it in that week.........

then the other player would step into the breach in order for the campaign to remain in full flow.

Still to be decided, though i would vote for both sides getting 2250/750 AP split.

With +1 to the Authority Roll for the defender. Nothing more, nothing else.

Just playing 4' x 4' games.

Keeping it simple.

What happens if u end up with seven players who want to play the campaign? How do u get a 2ic for each team??? You can't, so u need to mix & match, however players want to team up. So, here's an example ...
    UNA & Red Blok - Team One - Commander & 2ic
    Therian & ONi - Team Two - Commander & 2ic
    Karmen - Team Three - 2 players with the same army - One commander & a 2ic
    CoGs - Team Four - NO 2ic!
Can't be any simplier wacko wink ... Walts

I have had a re-think about one of my original points in the Original Post (OP).

i stated there that i would like to see one of each sides Companies have (an ONi consultant) access to Med Tech / Francesca / ONi APC.

What if, instead, all the rules for ONi were left in place ?

So all Companies could use Med Techs, and each side could use 1 Francesca.

BUT.

One of each sides companies would be designated as a Bunker Company.

When defending a sector, that company could deploy a bunker and 8 ( ? ) low walls in its deployment zone before the first Turn.

That would give 4 types of Company.

Heavy Company : Only company allowed to use Type 3 AFV

Motorised Company : Can move 2 sectors a turn.

Airborne Company : Can move anywhere on the map (500 MP cost)

Bunker Company : Can deploy bunker and 8 walls if defending a sector.

There are two reasons for my re-think.

1 ) There could be to many people all wanting to use ONi stuff at one time at the club. sad

2 ) Its a great excuse to get our new AT-43 Bunker on the table. smile

Feel free to comment.

Though of course any decisions will be made at the (hopefully short ) face to face meeting.

Its useful if people hear others opinions/ amendments and have time to think them over before the meeting.

Feel free to comment. happy

Anyone like to join in the campaign........

Plenty of time to learn the basics before the fun starts. biggrin

Airborne Company : Can move anywhere on the map (500 MP cost)

1)If it is an airborne company wouldn't it have the equipment necessary to transport itself? Why not make drop off free (or 100MP) for the designated company and a 500MP cost for other companies?

2) 500MP is a bit steep imho. Why not 250MP as in Frostbite?

That would make it more interseting. Might mean lots of zombies cluttering the place, though. And am I right in thinking that only vanilla companies can use ONI unit types?

Ah, not so keen on that one, where ( i think all ??? ) companies can replace a platoon with an ONi platoon. sad

As you say, to many zombies running around. surprised

And I'm sposed to be the mad Necromancer in this game.

Welcome aboard ! biggrin

We have some hostile take-overs on the agenda for next quarter. wink

The Maranos Project will look good on your corporate file.

(Remember to fill in the forms in order to be processed into a Super-Zombie ™ in case of accidents
.............. in this way it is possible to increase the Companies assets even after death. )

Company resources will be allocated for a pre-mission training program.

Will send you a memo.
