Meta-Wars 2016 update

Meta wars uses the Bolt Action rules....but with a few house rules.

1 ) Unpainted miniatures cost double points.

2 ) Measuring ranges ; measure from between the closest miniatures between firing and target units. All miniatures count firing from that range.

3 ) Medics ; see thread. (Medic activates and must get into contact with wounded to heal them on a 4+ )

4 ) Artillery Barrage ; on a roll of 1 on the table ..... barrage scatters ( scatter dice )1d20+4" and resolve barrage as usual.

5 ) Mechs ; move as half-tracks, count same armour all round, Mechs only fire to their front arc.

6 ) Missiles ; costed as guns, may not move and fire, targets do not get cover bonuses.

7 ) Down ; A unit that goes Down benefits from a -2 to be hit instead of -1.

8 ) 7+ to hit ; Instead of rolling a 6 twice.......half the number of attacks rounding down, (but always get 1 die). ((KoW rule.))

9 ) HQ's in Meta Wars can add their morale bonus to AFV, as they represent combined arms combat groups.
( rather than support from other regiments )

10 ) Commanders can take a rally action to remove pin markers from any unit, when the Commander activates.

11 ) Infantry movement reduced to 4" Advance and 8" Run. ( Fixing; To many close assaults ! / Transports more useful )

I would like to try Meta Wars in a different environment, but not sure what or even what I mean. I shall think on't

I have just bought an Allied, Dust Tactics medium walker to accompany my new army (the repainted figures I used to have as Red Blok substitutes - haven't needed them for some time closedeyes :fie:)

Hi z, Here is the campaign map (I think tongue ). What do you think? I thought whoever controls the spaceport can bring in some reinforcements there as well as HQ.

RED TEAM LOSSES AND REPLACEMENTS WEEKS 1 & 2

Week 1 Force#1:-
1 Medic = 20pts
1 Helicopter = 140pts
1 FO Med Mortar = 60pts
1 Veteran Unit = 105pts
1 Regular Unit = 90pts
1 Regular Unit Battle Armour = 75pts
1 APC = 160pts

Total = 650pts. RP roll = 900pts. 900-650 = 250RP left.

Week 2 Force#3
1 Regular Unit = 90pts
2 APCs = 180pts

Total = 270pts. Replace 1 Regular Unit@90pts + 1 APC@90pts = 180pts. 250pts-180pts = 70RP left.

I have made a sort of map of the star system in which this campaign exists (as I imagine it!). It's two planets (Ares, humanoids and Eros, reptilians) in the Beta Sirius system fighting for a third planet (Hera). There is also an asteroid belt where both parties have mining interests - could be used in the future? Also, Ares has another colony on Gaia which is seeking independence - colonies eh! Who'd have 'em?

Red Team losses from 2 games:

Force #2
1 Regular Unit = 90pts

Force #1
1 Regular Unit (3 figures) = 75pts
1 Helicopter = 140pts
1 Sniper = 50pts
1 F/O = 60pts

Total = 325pts

Grand Total = 415pts

Add 90pts not replaced from previous games

Total = 505pts.

Reinforcement roll 400pts + Bonus 100pts + 70pts carried over = 570pts - 505pts to replace all losses = 65pts carried over.

Lizardmen Losses

Company #1 Veterans .....4 infantry squads @ 115 = 460 AP / 3 snipers @ 50 AP = 150 AP / 1 ALO 320 AP total = 930 AP

Company #2 Regulars ...........1 infantry squad @ 100 AP

Company #3 Conscripts .......... 1 infantry squad @ 75 AP / 1 sniper 50 AP

As I have 1000 AP to spend, I will replace all losses from the Veteran Company #1 ( 930 AP ) and keep the 70 points for next time.

Reinforcement roll 800 AP + bonus 200 + 0 carry over = 1000 AP - 930 to replace losses to Company #1 = 70 AP
