Little Wars TV Nach Stalingrad Scenario 3 The Bridgehead

Battle of Nach Stalingrad The Bridgehead scenario 3, Little Wars TV

This is the forces set out before the actual game to get an idea of the deployment areas.

The terrain map was designed on Inkarnate and printed on a vinyl fabric as 4’ x 4’ Flag from Temu. Terrain map basic layout courtesy of Little Wars TV – Nach Stalingrad scenario with the FFofT34s rule adaption.

I find with 10mm figures the 2D maps are the easiest to manoeuvre bases. Getting them printed on Temu reduces the cost considerably and allows for quick setup and easy storage. I have passed the other map designs to Little Wars TV for you to get a free JPEG download.

The specific Scenario details can be found in the Nach Stalingrad free download off of Little Wars TV. In a quick synopsis the Germans have 12 turns to get the Russians out of their village (shown by the black arrows). The German force needs to keep the Russian forces 4” away from it’s starting village for a minor victory. Victory condition points marked with green stars.

End of Game.

Result a Major German Victory.

In post battle analysis this scenario suits the Germans who are still Excellent troops. Not sure why they bypassed this on the YouTube. Question is if another setup was adopted by the Russians would they do any better? Instead of trying to attack should they have setup in a solid defence?

In thinking about how the scenarios link at Scenario 2 we would now do Scenario 3 and take the extra Panzers. As the Scenario 4 The Maelstrom the Germans are in for a kicking anyway.

Colin had accrued 75 km so far (if we take out the Probe 5km) and gets +10 +2D6 to roll. He manages to get 15km. Giving him the 90km to pass the scenario. This gets the Germans that they reach the Myshkova River ahead of schedule, before the arrival of 2nd Guards Army. A small window of time exists for Manstein to give the signal for Paulus to breakout.

End of the whole campaign and extras!

Hope you enjoyed it and fancy a go yourself.

There are downloads for our QRS laid out a little more clearly for non FfofTOWS players (identical to Littlewars TV except we gave the Limbers a 5” move rather than the 4”). There is a download for each of the factions giving a map and the army briefing, and a scenario tracker for objectives, bonuses, what next and the distance achieved!
