Introduction: Lawrence Jones (Nickname: “LJ”) .:|:. The Archaeologist

A solitary man, LJ had been digging up the world from as young as 12 years old. His father was an archaeologists and LJ had gotten the bug too when he found a small trinket on one of his trips with his father in the Sudan. “It’s called an Elder Sign, my son. A good token to protect you from great evil. Keep it as a reward for all your hard work today.” From then onward, Lawrence’s curiosity in what the token meant would set him on an endless journey into the unknown; of cultists, dark lore & rituals, and finally, on the Trail of Cthulhu!

As the years passed since finding the token, which he wore round his neck and never took it off, LJ had a thirst for knowledge into the esoteric and occult, and with the help of his uncle, Professor “Jonesy”, was able to indulge his new passion. Going on digs with his father produced other minor finds; books of lore, strange drawings of unearthly “things”, where Uncle Jonesy was able to help decipher many of them.

Luckily for the family, LJ’s mother was a nurse (and teacher!) and traveled everywhere with them. Helping with minor injuries and ailments on the digs, he picked up the basics of first aid from helping his mother. He always marveled at his mother’s devotion to the locals who done the majority of all the hard labor. She was an extremely good willed person who helped all, rich or poor, with the same dedication and professional regardless of social rank.

However, with the advent of WW1, LJ’s pursuit for knowledge by going on digs had to be put aside as he was called up for duty and was given a privileged position as senior assistant to the generals in North Africa, and being able to speak the local language helped LJ to quickly fit in and have a quiet life away from all the bloodshed, along with many of the generals he supported. Uneventful years passed as Lawrence took to the ancient museums and library’s to look for any text, signs or symbols that would explain how and why cultists would believe such stories and that such ancient beings existed before man, how others believed man had been brought to earth from other “esoteric worlds” scattered across the universe … maybe one day he would understand too!

Just an update for Che, who had to leave early and miss the finale.

A gunfight broke out between the investigators and the Serpentmen.

All the S-men were wounded from casting the spell of transformation "Handmaiden of Yig " .

They stood little chance against the heavy firepower of the British.

Although one of the S-men managed to shoot Larry with a ray-gun, all the investigators survived.

One of the S-men escaped into the night. No doubt to return with vengeance in mind.

And they recovered the " Book of Yig " . ( Which grants Cthulhu Mythos 1 when read ) ........they also recovered the raygun !

Hero: " You bring balloon animals and i'll hire a clown..... we can make it a regular party. "

I've a note on my sheet that we've 2 build points to allocate to our
abilities, but I'm not 100% sure what some of the abilities are.

Is there a "Players Handbook" at all for us to look at?

Thanks, Walts

There is no players handbook.

So you can add two points to any of the skills.

Also you can move two points you already have on any skill to another skill, this represents the character changing his focus due to encountering the Mythos.

( it wont matter.....nothing you can do will save you.....mwahahahahaahh )

DEMON : " When next we meet, i shall tear you limb from limb...there will be no escape. "

Hero: " You bring balloon animals and i'll hire a clown..... we can make it a regular party. "

Introduction: Charlie Robinson (b. 1896)

‘Ere’s my story, for wha’ it’s worf. Just so’s you posh people can understand me I’ve got a toff to translate it into the King’s English, Gawd bless ‘im (The King, not the toff.)
I was born in a poor part of London in the last decade of the nineteenth century. I know it’s a bit of a cliché, we weren’t well off but we were happy. There was me, me Mum and Dad and Granddad living in a small flat; one bedroom, a kitchen and a living room. I say living room it was more like a cupboard, but it was home to us. I was just a nipper, so I didn’t know any better and didn’t care. Anyway, I spent my childhood there and was expecting to spend the rest of my life there. I would get a job, a sweetheart and raise a family, just like me Mum and Dad. However, history took a dim view of this future of mine and decided to have a party, called The Great War. I was eighteen when it came and joined up with my mates. We were shipped off to France in 1915 and didn’t get back to Blighty ‘til 1919. I won’t bore you with all the details of that war other than to say that it was not the best experience of my life.
It was while in France that I first came into contact with Colonel Wooleridge. He was my CO and, for some reason, we formed a sort of friendship. I was always reading books about strange and frightening things and he caught me on guard duty one day with one of them. I was expecting a rocket but instead, the old geezer said “Look me up after this show’s over, dear boy, I think we may be able to work together.” He gave me a knowing wink and left without shouting at me, pressing charges or even a warning.
After the war we were supposed to come home to “a land fit for heroes”. A land fit for heroes with money, more like. I spent most of my time down the local pub, the Duck and Pullet. The barmaid there’s got a soft spot for me. I slipped into a life of crime, conning people mostly, but also buying and selling, if you get my drift. That was how I renewed my connections with the old colonel. I started frequenting specialist book shops. No, not that kind you dirty buggers, the kind that dealt in magic and other dodgy stuff. The colonel invited me along to his house one day and………
