Turn 9:

The French are swarming into Quatre Bras. Brunswick loses a battalion.

Turn 10:

Allied Kielmansegge loses a battalion. Brunswick loses the Hussars.
But many of the units are now Shaken; Bylandt Militia two of, & Horse artillery;
Van Merlin Horse Artillery.

Turn 11:

The balance is tipped. Many of the Shaken units were Disordered so could not be rallied. On this turn Van Merlin’s Hussars become Shaken so that Brigade is now broken. Kempt who has gone loses the artillery so is also now Broken. Bylandt has a Militia shaken that breaks the Brigade – a rally at the end is successful. Vinke loses its artillery. Brunswick Avant Guard and Jager Shaken which forces him to break.

Kielmansegge loses another battalion and breaks.

Allied army is now effectively Broken. The ACVC house rules allow one turn to rally but with many of the Brigades broken due to destroyed units and the others with Disorder markers that cannot be rallied the Army has to fall back losing the battle.

The green markers indicate the Melee winner for the next fight.

The current victory points were 2 pts for every destroyed / retired Leader / unit, 1 pts if shaken, there are -1/2 pts if unit small, + 1/2 if large, and 2 pts for each section of Quatre Bras. In the totals the French got 67 points versus 12 points for the allies. Do in just a few turns the French had a landslide victory. We will see if they can repeat this!
We are now reviewing rules, house rules etc for the game using 28mm. |
